CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an expanding provider of Audit, Accounting & Tax related services to a diverse portfolio of both local and international clients, we are seeking to recruit an Accounting & Payroll Officer to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As an Accounting & Payroll Officer, you will primarily be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing for multiple companies. As part of your role, you will communicate with clients to collect and verify payroll information, maintain and update accurate payroll records, and assist the Payroll Manager with month-end payroll consolidation and reporting. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in a relevant field, who possess at least 1+ year of experience in a relevant role. You will need to be fluent in both verbal and written Greek and English, and have prior experience working with accounting and payroll software. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for multiple companies.
  • Communicate with clients to collect and verify payroll information.
  • Maintain and update accurate payroll records.
  • Calculate and process termination payments, salary increases, and back pays.
  • Submit statutory returns, including IR7 and IR63.
  • Register companies and individuals with Tax and Social Insurance Departments, including Ergani.
  • Assist the Payroll Manager with month-end payroll consolidation and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate calculation of payroll taxes, income tax, and social insurance contributions.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll-related laws and reporting deadlines.
  • Record day-to-day accounting transactions accurately.
  • Maintain complete and organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile bank statements, customer, and supplier accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Manage accounts receivable and payable; ensure timely processing of supplier invoices.
  • Assist with daily banking tasks and update cash flow records.
  • Support general bookkeeping and accounting functions as assigned.
  • Contribute to strong client relationships through reliable and professional service.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience is a must.
  • Good knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Premier Payroll Software).
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Effective teamwork and independent working capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in Greek and English.
  • IT literate and adaptable.
  • High integrity and a positive, can-do attitude.
