CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established and highly regarded Real Estate Construction & Development company, we are seeking to recruit an Accounting Officer to join their growing Property Management Division based in Nicosia. Working closely with the Accounting Manager, the successful applicant will handle a range of accounting and bookkeeping duties, including monthly reconciliations, preparing and submitting VAT returns, collecting rent payments, tracking expenses, and preparing financial statements. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated in a relevant field, and holders of the LCCI Higher accounting certification are encouraged to apply. You will need to possess proven accounting and bookkeeping experience, with any prior experience working in the Real Estate and/or Construction sectors considered an advantage. Fluency in both verbal and written Greek and English is essential, along with strong knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Regular reporting to the Accounting Manager.
  • Bookkeeping, collecting rent payments, tracking expenses, and preparing financial statements.
  • Monthly reconciliations of Debtors, Creditors and Bank accounts.
  • Monitoring and follow-up on communal fee collections.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
  • Accounting entries (transactions, reconciliations, reporting, debtors' receipts, allocations, purchases etc…).
  • Cooperation with the external auditors to carry out the annual audit.
  • Assist with the organisation of property repair issues as required.
  • Any other relevant duties as assigned by Management.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or similar is desirable.
  • Holders of the LCCI Higher qualification are encouraged to apply.
  • Proven experience in a relevant accounting and bookkeeping role is a must.  
  • Prior experience in the Real-Estate industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Greek & English languages.
  • Experience using the E-Soft accounting program is considered an additional qualification.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
