CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long established and highly regarded Family Office with diverse business interests and investments that include the Shipping industry, we are seeking to recruit an Accounting Officer to join their growing team based in Limassol. As an Accounting Officer you will support daily back-office operations, including maintaining accounting records and preparing monthly management accounts/reports for several entities. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another closely related field, who possess at least 2 years of relevant accounting and bookkeeping experience. Applicants working towards a professional accounting qualification are encouraged to apply, and any previous experience working for a Multinational, Investment Banking and/or Family office will be considered a plus. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Support daily back-office operations.
  • Maintaining accounting records.
  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts/reports, for several entities.
  • Responsible for bank reconciliations and filing of bank advices.
  • Responsible for the review and booking of all expense reports.
  • Responsible for monitoring bank account balances and request for funds replenishment.
  • Assist in the issuance of Invoices.
  • Assist the Income Tax and VAT reporting/compliance process.
  • Assist in the preparation of various weekly/monthly reports (financial, cash flows, budgets).
  • Assisting in strengthening of internal controls and procedures but also efficiency within the department.
  • Liaise with External auditors for any explanations/support required.
  • Liaise with Bankers for transactions execution and/or follow up.
  • Stay up to date with all current IFRS and Tax developments.
  • Become a power user of the IT systems of the department in order to extract information for ad hoc report preparation, but also other routine reporting.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • BSc Accounting, Finance, Economics or another relevant field.
  • Candidates working towards any relevant accounting qualifications/certifications are encouraged to apply.
  • 2+ years of accounting and bookkeeping experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Experience with SAP ERP will be considered as an advantage.
  • Previous experience working for a Multinational, Investment Banking and/or Family office will be considered a plus.
