CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a Global Investment Firm with a diverse range of business interests including Real Estate, Venture Capital & Technology, we are seeking to recruit a Accountant (Real Estate) to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As the Accountant you will ensure the maintenance of the Group’s general ledger and accuracy of accounting reports, procedures, and daily supervision of compliance with local requirements and group reporting standards. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance or other closely related fields, and candidates working towards the ACA or ACCA qualification are encouraged to apply. You will ideally possess 5+ years experience in audit/controlling role with demonstrable experience working in the Real Estate sector and be fluent in both verbal and written English. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience, along with the possibility of Remote and/or Hybrid working options within Cyprus.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Provides assistance, coordinates and supervises the day-to-day operation of the external accounting providers but also of the internal accounting operations to ensure timely and reliable financial data to both operational and executive team.
  • Provides assistance, coordinates monthly closing activities ensuring timely and accurate financial information in all aspects of daily operations and regular reporting.
  • Ensures that accounting records are following relevant statutory/group requirements and Group’s accounting policies.
  • Verifies the monthly trial balances for all the group companies, oversees the accounting reconciliation, and performs P&L analysis.
  • Oversees the preparation of the annual and mid year financial statements, ensuring proper and complete compliance.
  • Prepares the accounting manual policies and contributes to the development of new or amended procedures.
  • Ensures and coordinates accuracy of the fixed assets evidence working closely with accounting team and internal functions (asset management department).
  • Coordinates and review the annual inventory of assets and liabilities.
  • Reviews monthly group reporting.
  • Assists with the group audit, implements recommendation of external auditors.
  • Monitors legislative changes and ensure compliance with local legislation.
  • Supports/Implements new efficiency and automatization processes in the departments.
  • Involved in preparing the budgets and analyse actual versus budget at Group level
  • Manage the annual asset valuation process
  • Perform ad-hoc internal financial audits.
  • Background in Real Estate.
  • Familiarity with the tax regulation in the UK is advantage.   

 

Key Skills/Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • ACCA certification will be considered an advantage.
  • 5+ years experience in audit/controlling with experience working in the Real Estate sector.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Proficient in MS Office Package.
  • Strong attitude, collaborative team player with a can-do mindset.
