CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an expanding Group of Companies with diverse business interests including Real Estate Investments in both the UK and Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit an Accountant join their growing Finance Department based in Nicosia. As an Accountant you will be responsible for a range of accounting and bookkeeping duties, including bank reconciliations, the preparation of financial statements, as well as the preparation of monthly management accounts. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance or other closely related fields, and candidates working towards the ACA or ACCA qualification are encouraged to apply. You will need to possess approximately 2+ years of previous experience in a relevant role, and have up-to-date knowledge of IFRS. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Bookkeeping and general ledger postings.
  • Bank, debtor, creditor reconciliations and preparation of interest calculations.
  • Preparation of payment instructions.
  • Preparation of Financial Statements.
  • Preparation of weekly cash flow and profit & loss projections.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Preparation of VAT and Tax Returns.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Ideally studying towards ACCA/ACA (or equivalent).
  • 2+ years of experience in an accounting role is essential.
  • Up to date IFRS knowledge.
  • Must be a team player, able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to reconcile discrepancies.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of Navision would be favourable.
