CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, the owner and operator of a number of well-known restaurant outlets across Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing team based in Larnaca. As an Accountant, you will handle a range of duties, including assisting with the preparation of monthly Management Accounts and weekly financial reports, and maintaining accurate accounting records and general ledger reconciliations. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in a relevant field of study, who possess approximately 3+ years of experience in a relevant accounting role. You will need to be fluent in Greek and English, with any prior experience gained working within the Hospitality, Food & Beverage or Retail industry considered an advantage, but not essential. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience. Working hours are from 08:30 – 17:15 from Monday to Thursday, and from 08:30 – 17:00 each Friday.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly Management Accounts and weekly financial reports.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Perform supplier, bank, revenue, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage accounts payable and liaise with suppliers, the Payments Team and Store Managers.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Maintain lease accounting records in accordance with IFRS 16.
  • Review inventory reports, investigate stock variances and support month-end stock closing.
  • Reconcile transactions from food delivery platforms and ensure revenue accuracy.
  • Verify petty cash balances and support cash and banking reconciliations.
  • Liaise with the Payroll Team to ensure accurate payroll journal postings.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and strengthen internal controls.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • Holders of, or those working towards any professional accounting qualification are encouraged to apply.
  • Previous experience within the Hospitality, Food & Beverage or Retail industry will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience with SoftOne ERP and Novasero POS will be considered an advantage.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Good communication skills in Greek and English.
