CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a well-established accounting firm offering a full range of accounting services to both local and international clients, we are seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing team based in Limassol. As an Accountant, you will handle a range of duties, including maintaining accounting books, recording transactions, preparing, and submitting VAT returns, and more. Our client is seeking applicants who possess proven experience in a relevant accounting position, ideally gained working for a Professional Services company. You will need to be fluent in both Greek and English, and be a confident user of MS Office applications, including Excel. An attractive remuneration package is on offer based on skills and experience, and working hours are from 08:00 – 16:30 from Monday to Friday with some flexibility.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Maintaining accounting books and recording transactions.
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
  • Handling Income Tax related matters.
  • Registrations and administration of Social Insurance matters.
  • Use and handling of TFA and TaxisNet systems.
  • Communication with clients, government authorities, and associates.
  • Drafting and sending professional emails in both English and Greek.
  • Bank reconciliations, debtor/creditor reconciliations, and other accounting duties.
  • Assisting with payroll and administrative procedures where required.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Previous experience in an accounting firm or similar position.
  • Very good knowledge of Greek and English (written and verbal).
  • Ability to draft professional correspondence and emails.
  • Very good working knowledge of TFA and TaxisNet.
  • Knowledge of Social Insurance, VAT, and Income Tax procedures.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills, responsibility, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience with The Cyprus Registrar of Companies will be considered a plus.
  • Handling changes of directors, shareholders, and company records is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of corporate procedures and compliance matters is desirable.
