CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established Electronic Money Institution (EMI) licensed by the Central Bank of Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing team based in Larnaca. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for performing daily accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting the smooth operation of the accounting department. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, or another relevant field, who possess proven experience of approximately 2+ years in a similar accounting role. Sound knowledge of accounting standards is essential, and experience with accounting software is a must. Key Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Record all financial transactions accurately in accordance with IFRS and maintain the general ledger.
  • Document and file accounting transactions in an organized manner.
  • Perform reconciliations for suppliers, customers, and bank accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports.
  • Assist with tax filings and VAT submissions.
  • Coordinate with auditors for year-end audits, providing necessary documentation.
  • Assist with other day-to-day accounting and operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

 

Key Skills/Experience:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar accounting role of approximately 2+ years.
  • Experience with accounting software is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Good knowledge of accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong sense of responsibility.
  • Team player with a positive mindset.
  • Well-organized and detail oriented.
