CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established engineering company that provides design and manufacturing solutions to the dairy and food industries, we are seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As an Accountant, you will handle a range of accounting and bookkeeping duties. Your responsibilities will include processing transactions, issuing checks, updating ledgers, preparing financial reports, assisting with audits, and managing payroll. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in a relevant field of study, who possess 3+ years of experience in a relevant accounting and bookkeeping role. You will need to be fluent in Greek and English, and be a confident user of MS Office applications, including Excel. A highly attractive remuneration and benefits package is on offer based on skills and experience, which includes a 13th salary, and Provident Fund. Key Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Providing support to the Accounting Department.
  • Handling communications with clients and vendors via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Processing transactions, issuing checks, and updating ledgers, budgets, etc...
  • Preparing financial reports.
  • Assisting with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Assisting with Payroll on a monthly basis.
  • Carrying out regular Bank reconciliations
  • Support the Credit Control function. 
  • Follow up on monthly payments of PAYE and Social insurances
  • Prepare monthly journals such as Accruals, Standing orders etc...
  • Follow up Intrastat and VIES (monthly).
  • Registration of new employees in Ergani.
  • Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes, and bank accounts at the end of each month.
  • Process accounts receivable and payable.

 

Key Skills/Experience:

 

  • Academic background in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar is desirable.
  • Holders of, or those working towards any relevant accounting qualifications are encouraged to apply.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting is essential.
  • Fluency in verbal and written English and Greek.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel.
  • Strong typing and data entry skills.
  • Excellent time management abilities.
  • Professional manners and strong ethical standards.
  • Ability to multitask while remaining motivated and positive.
  • Organized, team-oriented, and eager for continuous learning.
  • Strong commitment to working efficiently and accurately.
  • Knowledge of Sage accounting software will be considered a plus.
