CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an award-winning and FSCA regulated brokerage with expanding operations in Limassol, we are seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing Finance Team. As an Accountant, you will handle day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger entries, as well as performing regular bank reconciliations, and reviewing payroll calculations. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or another relevant field, and holders of or those working towards the ACA or ACCA qualifications are welcome to apply. You will need to possess approximately 3+ years of experience in a similar accounting role, with any experience working with SAP accounting software considered an advantage. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are a must. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Handle day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Manage financial obligations and ensure timely processing and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor and reconcile debtor and creditor accounts.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations.
  • Review and verify payroll transactions.
  • Oversee and reconcile intercompany balances and transactions.
  • Prepare and review VAT reports and ensure timely submissions.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Execute month-end closing procedures, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the preparation of audited financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
  • Prepare payments for creditors, VAT, and PAYE.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, local accounting standards, and internal policies.
  • Act as a point of contact for external auditors during audits.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • BSc/MSc in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • ACA or ACCA qualification (or in progress) is considered an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with SAP accounting software is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Energetic, organized, and team-oriented with a proactive, results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
