CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a leading Law Firm with offices across Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing teams based in either Nicosia or Paphos. As an Accountant, you will primarily be responsible for managing bookkeeping tasks for various companies, including handling VAT and tax returns, preparing invoices, and maintaining statements of account. Our client is seeking applicants who possess 2+ years of relevant experience in an accounting and bookkeeping role, who hold specialized knowledge in VAT matters to ensure accurate compliance with tax regulations. Fluency in both verbal and written Greek and English is highly desirable, along with excellent knowledge of MS Office applications. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for managing bookkeeping tasks for various companies.
  • Handling VAT and tax returns.
  • Preparing invoices, and maintaining statements of account.
  • Support other financial documentation as required.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax filings.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, with a specialization in VAT matters.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and VAT regulations.
  • Proven experience in preparing VAT and tax returns accurately and on time.
  • Proficiency in invoicing processes and maintaining statements of account.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and accounting standards.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple clients or companies.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluency in both Greek and English.
