CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established Group of Companies operating in the Financial Services sector, we are seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing team based in Limassol. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining proper accounting books and records on a daily basis, as well as preparing and maintaining bank records of multicurrency bank accounts. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another closely related field, and holders of the LCCI Higher are encouraged to apply. You will need to possess approximately 2 years of experience as an Accountant/Bookkeeper and have experience in using computerized accounting systems. Any specific experience of working with SAP accounting software and/or QuickBooks will be considered an advantage. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Maintaining proper accounting books and records on a daily basis.
  • Preparing and maintaining bank records of multicurrency bank accounts.
  • Assisting in the preparation of Management reports including reconciliations, TB, Income Statements and Balance Sheets.
  • Preparing Banks, PSPs, Suppliers’ and intercompany reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Checking invoicing from suppliers, as to be in line with the terms & conditions agreed.
  • Preparing of payments to suppliers and other bank transfers, for review and approval.
  • Communication with banks, suppliers, tax authorities.
  • Monitoring of VAT affairs and assisting in the preparation of quarterly VAT reports.
  • Daily monitoring and reconciliations of client funds.
  • Carrying out any further duties assigned by the Finance Management team, including assistance and support on ad hoc reporting requirements, management’s requests, budgets preparation.
  • Liaison with auditors and assistance with statutory and other audits.
  • Communication and coordination with various departments within the organisation.
  • Liaison with Accountants in other group’s offices overseas.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities including assisting in preparation of due diligence work for counterparties and managing files.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • BSc in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • Holders of the LCCI Higher are encouraged to apply.
  • Approximately 2 years experience as an Accountant/Bookkeeper.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and VAT will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry is a plus.
  • Experience in using computerized accounting systems.
  • Knowledge of the SAP accounting software will be considered as an advantage.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software will be considered an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required, while proficiency in Greek is considered an advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, mainly Excel & Word.
  • Ensuring that internal/external deadlines are met.
  • Responsible, trustworthy and loyal, with strong communication skills and critical thinking
  • Must be able to work both independently and as a part of a team in a pressurized and multi-tasking environment
  • Quick learner, attention to detail, problem solving and result oriented personality.
