CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established Electronic Money Institution (EMI) licenced by the Central Bank of Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing team based in Larnaca. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations, and maintaining and updating accounting records and files. Our client seeks applicants ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another related field, with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant professional experience gained working in a bookkeeping, accounting, or similar role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, and excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Greek are a must. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare and examine financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain and update accounting records and files.
  • Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
  • Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Conduct internal controls to ensure financial integrity.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Stay updated with accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations to ensure full compliance.
  • Maintenance of the accounting books and records for clients.
  • Running of monthly payroll and handling the contributions.
  • Preparation and submission of VAT, VIES and other tax returns.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is desirable.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Fluency in both English and Greek.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
