CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established and rapidly expanding Group of Companies operating in the Real Estate sector across Cyprus and abroad, we are seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing team based in Nicosia. The successful applicant will primarily be responsible for handling a range of bookkeeping and accounting duties, including assisting with the invoicing procedure, ensuring monthly invoices are being issued according to the agreed terms, recording sales and purchase invoices, and handling suppliers & customers payments. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another related field who possess at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role. Any professional accounting qualification will be considered as advantage and knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Greek and English are a must. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Fully capable of all aspects of bookkeeping.
  • Assist on the invoicing procedure and ensure that the monthly invoices are being issued according to the agreed terms.
  • Record the sales and purchase invoices, handling suppliers & customers payments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and petty cash.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT forms.
  • Maintain files, including filing of general ledger journal vouchers, accounts payable documentation, and other miscellaneous filing.
  • Maintain regular contact with other departments to obtain and convey information or to correct transactions.
  • Assist with audits.
  • Undertake any other specific duties as required by the Financial Manager.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any other related discipline.
  • Any professional accounting qualification will be considered as an advantage (the Company is an ACCA accredited employer).
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of Greek and English language (written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Great communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to delivering the highest quality with attention to detail.
