CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a pioneering provider of Insurance services and solutions that is disrupting the insurance sector, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Reconciliations Accountant to join their growing team based in Nicosia. The successful applicant will primarily be responsible for overseeing the work of the Reconciliations Accounting Team, ensuring that the output from the policy production system is reconciled to the bank, as well as overseeing the processing of transactions in the finance system. You will ideally hold an academic background relating to Accounting, Finance, Economics or another closely related field, and holders of any relevant accounting qualification are encouraged to apply (ACCA/AAT/CAT). You will need to possess a minimum of 4 years’ experience working in a similar position, including demonstrable experience of leading and mentoring less experienced team members. Fluency in English is a must, and knowledge of Greek and/or Romanian will be considered a plus. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for daily data reconciliations in the accounting system (Reconcile banks/PSPs Balances with their statement and Client Balances with platform balances).
  • Follow up and resolve tasks with other departments in the Company.
  • Resolve any discrepancies identified in an efficient and effective manner.
  • In charge of the reconciliation findings reporting. 
  • Identify weakness within the systems to avoid losses for the Company.
  • Prepare various daily/weekly/monthly reports related to client funds and balances.
  • Stay up to date with the general internal policies and procedures.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another closely related field.
  • Holders of, or those working towards any relevant accounting qualification are encouraged to apply (ACA, ACCA, CAT etc…).
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Previous experience in managing a team.
  • Worked with big data for the reconciliation of receivables with sales invoices, including reconciling and processing discrepancies or complex transactions.
  • Worked in functions relating to receipt of payments, collection of cash, issue of receipts or invoicing.
  • Experience in ecommerce, insurance, or the technology sector is desirable.
  • Experience of using and working with accounting software.  
  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Excel and PIVOT tables.
  • Use of Python or Microsoft BI would be an advantage.
  • Experience in Data Reconciliation for accounting purposes, ability to work with big spreadsheets and perform detailed analysis.
  • Good communication skills – will need to cooperate with other teams and communicate effectively in English.  Knowledge of Greek and/or Romanian would be an advantage.
