CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an International Payment Solutions Provider with expanding operations in Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Financial Analyst to join their growing team based in Limassol. The successful applicant will primarily be responsible for the month end closure process, ensuring that transactions are recorded in the correct ledger and verifying and reconciling invoices to match the agreements and actual payments processed. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Finance, Accounting, or another related field, who possess 2+ years of previous experience in a similar position, with experience in accounting and/or audit. A strong understanding of bookkeeping, along with sound knowledge of accounting principles including IFRSs is essential. You will need to be fluent in both Greek and English and possess a proven track record of building strong client connections and providing excellent service.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Liaise with the external accountants and handle any accounting and bookkeeping requirements as part of month end closure process.
  • Ensure that the transactions are recorded in the correct ledger.
  • Liaise with Payroll, Tax and VAT providers.
  • Liaise with auditors to provide appropriate documentation and information as requested to complete external audits.
  • Verify and reconcile invoices to match the agreements and actual payments processed.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Assist on cash flow, budget, and business plan preparations.
  • Maintain historical records by filling documents.
  • Assist with back-office matters.
  • Performing ad hoc duties such as conducting analysis, creating reports, special projects as requested by management.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position, with experience in Accounting and/or Audit.  
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping, accounting principles including IFRSs.
  • Proficiency with computers, EXCEL knowledge is a must.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Greek.
  • Ability to work under pressure and withing deadlines.
  • Trustworthy and discreet when dealing with confidential information.
  • Team player.
  • Knowledge of corporate governance norms and procedures.
  • Proven track record of building strong client connections and providing excellent service.
  • Being multilingual could be useful, especially in an international corporate environment.
