CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a large and long-established Financial Services Consultancy Group with offices across Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit an Accounting Officer to join their growing team based in Nicosia. Reporting to the Head of Accounting, you will be responsible for various accounting and bookkeeping tasks to help ensure the smooth running of the finance function of the Group. An academic background relating to Accounting, Finance or Economics will be considered an advantage and approximately 3+ years of previous experience in a similar role is a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Greek & English are essential.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and processing accounting entries to the accounting system according to group’s accounting procedure.
  • Preparing and processing invoices to customers.
  • Following up with debtors and monitoring collections.
  • Preparing payment instructions, and active communication with suppliers.
  • Preparing cash receipts and bank deposits.
  • Preparing and processing VAT returns.
  • Conducting monthly reconciliations of Group’s banks and visa cards accounts.
  • Conducting monthly reconciliations of accounts payable, receivable and intercompany balances.
  • Documenting and filing accounting transactions in an organized manner; Properly maintaining the accounting filing system.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Management.

 Key Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance, Economics or in any other related discipline will be considered an advantage.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • LCCI Level 3, AAT, CAT, or other equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Multitasking individual with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent command of the English and Greek languages, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge and previous use of the SAP software will be considered an advantage.
