CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an international firm that operates in the Energy and Oil sector, we are seeking to recruit an Accountant in Limassol. The successful applicant will hold a minimum of 5+ years previous experience in a similar role and speak an excellent level of fluent English. Knowledge of the Russian language would be highly desirable.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts, balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Maintain the general ledger.
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
  • Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
  • Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
  • Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Provide external auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform the annual audit.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax forms with local government agencies.
  • Assist with the day-to day activities of the finance team.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Ad hoc projects and/or tasks as assigned by the Management.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Relevant education in the field of Finance / Economics / Accounting or related field.
  • ACCA/ACA/CPA Qualified or other relevant qualification.
  • 5+ years of finance and accounting experience, ideally within a similar Financial Accounting position. Candidates working for Top 4 Audit & Accounting Firms are also encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of IFRS reporting standards.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English is essential. Russian would be an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills with high level attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and perform well under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Competent user of MS Excel, MS Word, Navision etc.
