CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an independent and highly respected Professional Services firm with offices in Nicosia, we are seeking to recruit a suitably well-qualified Assistant Compliance Officer to join their expanding team of professionals. The successful applicant will hold 1+ years’ of previous compliance-related experience and speak an excellent level of fluent Greek & English. Knowledge of Russian and/or Ukrainian will be considered an advantage.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Being part of a team of individuals carrying out and overseeing the AML and other Compliance requirements of the firm.
  • Undertake background screening checks for individuals and corporations.
  • Being able to critically interpret findings (i.e., PEP, adverse media, etc).
  • Input and/or update as applicable client’s profile on the software tools used by the firm.
  • Review and periodically update the profile of clients’ risk assessment and economic profile.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other team members and colleagues for compliance related matters.

 

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Holder of a relevant University Degree.
  • 1+ years of previous experience in a compliance-related position is a must.
  • Knowledge of the AML law, EU Directives and Best Practices of the sector.
  • Experience with undertaking KYC and other Due Diligence procedures.
  • Experience with updating and reviewing the profile of existing clients of the firm.
  • Experience with relevant software tools and databases such as WiseBos, Lexis Nexis (world compliance), Thomson Reuters (world compliance).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and being able to work in a team.
  • Critical thinking proficiency.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to remain self-motivated at all times and work under pressure.
  • Integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Excellent command of English and Greek language (oral and written).
  • Knowledge of Russian or Ukrainian language will be considered as an advantage.
